BODY+MIND BALANCING PROGRAM
Twice a year I do a mind+body "cleanse".
While I don't plan for these in my calendar too far in advance, at some point I start noticing some signs that it's time to get one in the books:
* by fast-food I mean whenever eating feels like a chore and I just want to whip the quickest thing and get it over with (grilled cheese, canned soup, protein shake, etc...)
When I realize all these things are happening more and more, I slowly start planning and preparing for what I've developed over the years as my personal 'reset' program.

When I started experimenting with this idea, I used to focus mostly on the diet aspect, and I would just do a more traditional detox program.
After the initial excitement of the first day or two, it felt more like punishment than a rewarding or invigorating practice, and by the end of the week I often felt more depleted and irritable than before. The focus ended up being about getting through the week and proving to myself I can do it, instead of benefiting from the actual practice itself.
A couple of years ago I started incorporating also a "mental reset" aspect to my 'reset weeks', and immediately noticed the huge difference:

How much time will i need to allocate for this program?
Do i have to follow everything exactly as suggested?
You're completely in charge of designing this program to fit your goals, restrictions and needs. In each aspect (diet, exercise, meditation, etc), there will be a variety of suggestions for you to explore. Everything will be offered as an invitation, so you can then choose which elements to incorporate, and at what capacity.
All that said, what you will put into this program will have direct effect on what you'll experience and gain from it. If this isn't the right time for you to commit to this program, no worries - you could always try and join for the next round, in the fall.
wHAT'S AN ELIMINATION DIET?
A full elimination diet is a meal plan that allows you to discover any food sensitivities. I'm offering a "lite" version of it that is focused on removing most common allergenic foods for the more general purpose of well-being.
The elimination diet plan has been designed by a naturopathic doctor, and I will be modifying it personally to you (I am a certified Health Coach). A strict version of it will be offered, but we'll discuss together how to implement it and you'll be free to choose which parts of it feel appropriate for you to adopt, and which to leave out this time.
The diet consists mostly of a selection of whole grains, vegetables and herbal teas. Some meat, fish and dairy options can be included. You will not be required to add any supplements, the diet is balanced and complete. It is low-calorie, so you should refrain from extraneous activities during that week.
Most people struggle the most with eliminating sugar and caffeine from their diet, so some withdrawal symptoms could be present (mostly headaches and fatigue). I will offer suggestions how to gradually reduce intake of these elements in preparation for full elimination, what to expect and how to prepare for the first couple of days.
At the end of the week you'll receive a recommended order of re-introduction of the eliminated foods, and this can help in identifying possible sensitivities to specific foods. Once again, this order and schedule are recommendations only, and if you decide to go back to your regular diet immediately after this week that it also fine.
A full elimination diet requires following it for a longer period of time, so if this is your main objective I'd suggest consulting a naturopathic doctor or a clinical dietician instead. This version of it is modified for a more general well-being purpose.

As always, my programs are offered on a sliding scale, so anyone who is interested could join.

Keep in mind, there are additional expenses for groceries and books/movies of your choice, that will vary (groceries are estimated at $150 for the week, but includes many dry-food items that will last beyond the program. I will also share ideas how to cut costs down for groceries. Most importantly, you will not need to spend any money on food beyond that for the week.)
